Is a young generation of Internet users a cohort of thieves or maybe legal regimes have not managed to catch up with the Internet revolution? The subject introduces selected key concepts drawn from the European and American legal tradition and presents them in the context of the Internet revolution that has redefined social habits and lifestyles of all generations. Students will be confronted with American as well as EU regulatory approaches to handle such pressing problems as mass downloading of files from P2P networks, privacy of users, security in cyberspace, contracting online, liability for content posted or hosted etc. No legal background would be necessary.
